Caring for a seriously ill child or young person can put extra demands on a family. A hospice charity offers a service that provides them with extra support in their own home.
Volunteers are needed for this service. They would not provide nursing care but would undertake household tasks such as: cleaning, laundry/ironing, cooking, gardening, dog walking and odd jobs around the home. Also important is having a cup of tea and a chat, and being a listening ear.
The charity operates across the region but allocates each volunteer to a family near them. Travel expenses are provided. Training and supervision is also given.
Please note: Volunteer Uttlesford has a total of over 200 opportunities available, only a few of which are featured on this website. Contact us for information on other volunteer roles.
