An outstanding village primary school needs someone to join its board of governors.

The board provides strategic direction and support to improve education and safeguarding. The full board meets four times annually. There are also opportunities to get involved in a wide range of committees and working parties, depending on the governor’s personal skill set and areas of interest.

Governors must have strategic vision and be able to contribute and challenge at executive level. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach are also vital. General management experience involving managing/developing people, analysing data and writing workplace policies would be highly valuable.

It would also be beneficial if the volunteer had experience in at least one of the following:

• safeguarding
• education
• finance
• HR
• health and safety/premises
• technology.

Appointment would be for a four-year term of office.
