Position title
Make a difference to the lives of visually impaired people
Description

An award winning community interest organisation based in Saffron Walden provides services to visually impaired people across mid- and west Essex. Now at a critical period in its history, it needs an exceptional individual to take over the role of Chair of the Board of Trustees.

What is needed is someone who is 'board chair ready', with experience in managing organisational transformation, fund raising and charity governance. The new Chair must have the emotional intelligence and ability to develop a high performing board that provides the right blend of support and challenge to the Chief Executive and staff team. It is essential that the Chair should be able to commit the time required for this demanding role - around 25 days per year.

The organisation is committed to achieving greater diversity in its board, and welcomes applications regardless of sex, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, age, sexuality, belief or disability or any other factor which is not objectively justified.
